Do You Need a Little R&R?

You know its not too often that anyone gets vacations. In fact especially with the economy the way it is I don’t think that its even on anyone’s mind lately. We put it in the back of our minds because we know we either can’t afford it, or take the time off from work.

I say there are ways to get away without having to take even a weekend off. You don’t need to get a hotel you don’t need to go to the next state, in fact I bet no matter where you live there is some place very nice and great to visit. Sometimes it might be an hour drive or sometimes it might be 15 minutes away, but this little R&R is wonderful for the spirit.

Before you say “no there is nothing around me like that” stop and really think. Think outside the box… there is beauty everywhere around us. Sometimes you’re lucky enough to be around a lot of beauty and great places that tourist come and visit. But have YOU visited these places? Often times when you go take a vacation its far from where you are, where you live. But take a mini vacation locally.

About a month ago some friends did come up and stay a weekend at our house and we took them to a great little river in Payson called Flowing Springs. Now we found a really cool spot that actually had sand! True beach kind of sand. We were burying our feet and even ourselves in it! Our friends brought their dogs up and we took ours and had a blast. We brought a portable grill and food and just had a picnic and spend the day out there.

It didn’t cost us a thing but we got some much needed relaxing time… so look around. Get online if you have to, go visit some place near you for a one day vacation. If we all did these day vacations I think we’d all be less stressed.

Oh and bring a camera! Even a disposable one… you have to capture the memories!
