Wild Horses – Various Artists

Last night I am driving home from my best friends house and listening to the radio. The DJ was talking about a poll they had done on the song Wild Horses by Rolling Stones. Like many classic songs this one has been remade several times. So the question on the poll was which version of Wild Horses was better? The one by Rolling Stones or the remake by Susan Boyle. Now I love Susan Boyle’s remake of Time after Time so I had to track down her version of Wild Horses. Here are both versions… What do you think?
Rolling Stone’s Version:
Wild Horses – The Rolling Stones
Susan Boyle’s Version: (this is only a 30sec preview, click and sign into imeem to listen to full version for free)
Now I like both versions very much, in fact I love the song so much that I love all versions! But I have to say if I had to pick a favorite it wouldn’t be either one of these. It would be the version by The Sundays. Now THAT version speaks to me and pulls at my heartstrings! So listen to this one too and let me know which one you love the most or even if you know of another version!
And in case you want to follow along here are the lyrics:
Childhood living is easy to do
The things you wanted I bought them for you
Graceless lady you know who I am
You know I cant let you slide through my hands
Wild horses couldnt drag me away
Wild, wild horses, couldnt drag me away
I watched you suffer a dull aching pain
Now you decided to show me the same
No sweeping exits or offstage lines
Could make me feel bitter or treat you unkind
Wild horses couldnt drag me away
Wild, wild horses, couldnt drag me away
I know I dreamed you a sin and a lie
I have my freedom but I dont have much time
Faith has been broken, tears must be cried
Lets do some living after we die
Wild horses couldnt drag me away
Wild, wild horses, well ride them some day
Wild horses couldnt drag me away
Wild, wild horses, well ride them some day
