Fall Cleaning Your Books

You have the major cleaning in the spring and then you have your fall cleaning. Fall cleaning is the time to pack up all your summer supplies from sporting equipment to your summer clothes. With the shorter days come the cooler days and nights. So you’ll be spending more time indoors instead of outside by the grill and lake.
One thing I do with my fall cleaning is work on my organization. I spent all summer outside now that I’m forced inside again I need to get everything together.
What I want to talk about today is organizing books! Now that I’m inside I tend to read a lot more. Snuggling up under the covers and reading a book with a cup of tea sounds so good when I’m cold! I love reading and researching and I have hundreds of books for that reason. However I am running out of space on my bookshelves.
Well over the summer I found a fantastic website called PaperBackSwap.com It is a website that allows you to post books that you have and don’t want anymore for others to request. Once someone requests them you pay to have it shipped to them, which averages about $2.75. when they get the book you sent you receive a credit. With this credit you can request any book on the website and that person sends it to you at their cost.
You can see how much money you can potentially save. Once you get done with the book you can either keep it or post it back on the website to send it to the next person who wants it. I estimate that I have saved about $300 since starting on the website and I am still shipping and receiving regularly! I love it and I think its a great way to get rid of the books that you just don’t want but you want to make sure someone appreciates it! It sure has helped me get over my pack rat tendencies with my books. :)
Check it out and play around on it. If you do decide to sign up make sure you say that RainNotebook referred you. I know you’ll love the website as much as me!
